What to Expect When Your Landscape Project Begins
Starting a landscape project is exciting, but it's also natural to wonder what the first few days will look like. At Cobble Design, we believe great communication is just as important as great craftsmanship, so we make sure you know exactly what to expect before, during, and after construction.
Before We Arrive
About two weeks before your project begins, we'll reach out to confirm your start date, review the project timeline, and explain the first steps. The day before work starts, we'll contact you again with a reminder that our crew will be arriving.
You'll also be introduced to your foreperson, who will oversee your project from start to finish. They are your primary contact and will keep you updated throughout the build.
Our Daily Routine
Our day begins at 7:00 AM with a crew meeting and loading equipment at our warehouse near Zurich, Ontario. Depending on your location, our team will typically arrive on site between 7:30 AM and 8:30 AM.
Crews generally work until 6:00 PM on weekdays and 12:00 PM on Saturdays. At the end of each day, we return to our shop to prepare equipment and materials for the following day.
Communication Throughout the Project
You won't be left wondering what's happening. Your foreperson will provide regular progress updates, explain upcoming work, and answer any questions you may have. Whenever possible, we keep the same crew assigned to your project from beginning to end to provide consistency and quality.
You'll also likely meet one or more of our owners throughout the project. They regularly visit job sites to ensure everything is running smoothly and that you're happy with the progress.
Expect Some Noise and Dirt
Landscape construction is, by nature, noisy and messy. Heavy equipment, excavation, and material deliveries are all part of the process. While we can't eliminate the disruption, we take pride in leaving your property as clean and organized as possible at the end of every workday.
We also recommend giving your neighbours a heads-up before construction begins. If they have any questions while we're on site, our foreperson is always happy to speak with them.
The Final Walkthrough
Once construction is complete, your foreperson will walk through the finished project with you to ensure every detail has been completed to your satisfaction. It's our opportunity to answer any final questions and make sure you're ready to enjoy your new outdoor space.
